Never A Day

Cento/Villanelle Crafted using Triolets from "30 Days of Triolet"

I hope there never comes a day,

if stars should fail to send their light,

we invite the darkness to stay.

Although my life will surely fade

and dreary days would crowd my sight--

I hope there never comes a day

the chilling touch incites decay--

to wonder what will spring to life--

we invite the darkness to stay.

Those memories that cannot fade--

the shattered dream of past delight--

I hope there never comes a day

the precious words I need to say

will score the heart they hide from sight.

We invite the darkness to stay

while mourners worry life away--

Just thought I'd let you know tonight--

I hope there never comes a day

we invite the darkness to stay.
